Interfaith Eid Ul Adha Celeberation – Connecting Hearts, Faith, and Culture

On the 19th of June, 2024, the Camden community came together to celebrate the spirit of unity and cultural diversity at the Interfaith Eid Ul Adha Celeberation event, aptly themed “Connecting Hearts, Faith, and Culture.” This heartwarming occasion was held from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and saw a rich tapestry of attendees from various faiths, including Christians, Jews, Hindus, and local officials.

Event Highlights

5:30 PM – Registration and Welcome Refreshments

As the sun began its descent, guests arrived and were greeted with warm smiles and a selection of delightful refreshments. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation and camaraderie, setting the perfect tone for the evening ahead.

5:45 PM – Opening Ceremony

The event officially commenced with an introduction by Fauzia, who eloquently set the stage for the proceedings. This was followed by a beautiful Quran recitation and its translation by Abdallah and Fathi, offering a moment of spiritual reflection and peace.

Muath Alamri, the CEO of MWLLO, then took to the podium. With heartfelt sincerity, he welcomed all the guests and shared nostalgic memories of waiting for Eid during his childhood. His words resonated deeply with the audience, emphasizing the joy and communal spirit that Eid brings.

The Mayor of Camden followed with a speech that highlighted the collaborative efforts of MWLLO and expressed her profound feelings about the occasion. She spoke passionately about the importance of such interfaith events in fostering understanding and unity within the community.

The final speech was delivered by the esteemed Shaykh Haytham Tamim. His insightful words and inclusive message underscored the evening’s theme, leaving a lasting impression on all present.

6:30 PM – Musical Performance by Star Voices from Olive Hackney School

One of the evening’s most enchanting moments was the musical performance by the Star Voices from Olive Hackney School. The students captivated the audience with their brilliant rendition, showcasing not only their talent but also the harmonious blend of cultures and traditions.

6:45 PM – Refreshments and Networking
