London, [06/08/2024] – The Muslim World League UK Office extends its gratitude to the UK Government and local authorities for their prompt response and ongoing support in ensuring the safety and security of places of worship.

Muath Alamri, Chief Executive Officer of the Muslim World League UK Office, stated, “We commend the UK Government’s swift action and thank the authorities for their ongoing engagement. The assistance of the local police, who have visited our Mosque in London, has been invaluable. They have given us assurances of support so that we can continue to offer a safe environment for our community and all our visitors.”

The recent incidents affecting places of worship across the country have raised concerns within the community. The proactive measures taken by the authorities have been instrumental in addressing these concerns. “The safety and security of our community is of paramount importance, and we are heartened by the proactive measures taken to ensure this,” Alamri added.

The Muslim World League UK Office aligns its actions and principles with those articulated in the “Charter of Makkah,” endorsed unanimously by the world’s leading Muslim scholars in 2019.

“In accordance with the Charter of Makkah, we believe that religious and cultural diversity should never justify conflict. Instead, it should be a bridge to dialogue, understanding, and cooperation for the benefit of all humanity,” stated Alamri. “We urge our community to avoid situations where there may be confrontation and be reassured that the authorities will act quickly to protect places of worship from any potential harm.”

Furthermore, the Charter calls for all Muslims to work together to prevent all forms of destruction and to bring benefit to humanity. “We remain committed to working closely with the authorities to maintain peace and security for everyone. It is crucial that we work together to uphold these values and protect our community,” Alamri concluded.

The Muslim World League UK Office continues to monitor the situation closely and remains dedicated to promoting a safe and harmonious environment for all.
