The MWLLO works in the UK under the auspices of its parent organisation the Muslim World League in Makkah al-Mukarramah. Its office is at the 3rd floor of a 4-storey building located at the prime location in central London and is easily accessible.
The mosque is on the first floor while ladies’ prayer room is on the ground floor. The mosque is open for the five prayers (Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha).
On Fridays all floors are open to accommodate as many people as possible. It is estimated approximately 800 people attend the Friday congregation every week.
By virtue of its being located in central London and being surrounded by universities, colleges, hospitals and several offices where a large number of Muslims study or work, the MWLLO provides them with free Iftar meal during the month of Ramadan. Dates are provided to break the fast with the start of Maghrib Adhan, followed by one course meal with juice after salah.
During Ramadan the MWLLO also provides Tarawih prayer facilities. This additional prayer, which is performed immediately after Isha prayer, is lead by two Hafizs of the Qur’an.
Eid prayers are also performed on both occasions. MWLLO has just one Eid prayer on each Eid occasion.
During weekends free facilities are provided to other organisations to hold their programmes.
MWLLO maintains good relationships with UK-based prominent Muslim organisations.
